Gires (Japanese: ギレスタ) is an intermediate healing technique common to Phantasy Star games.
Phantasy Star series
Phantasy Star II
In Phantasy Star II, gires costs 7 TP to cast. It restores 60 HP to a single ally.
Rolf, Amy, Hugh, and Shir are the only player characters who can use gires. Rolf learns it at level 16, Amy learns it at level 6, and Hugh and Shir both learn it at level 30.
Phantasy Star IV
In Phantasy Star IV: The End of the Millennium, gires costs 6 TP to cast. It restores an amount of HP equal to 80 plus the caster's mental stat to a single ally, but is not effective on android party members, or on defeated party members. It can be used in combat or out of combat.
Chaz, Hahn, Rika, Raja, and Kyra are the only player characters who can use gires. Hahn learns it level 11, Chaz learns it level 16, and Rika learns it at level 13. Raja and Kyra already know the technique when they join the party.

Resta takes the place of gires and other healing techniques.
