- "Mothverts will keep appearing, one after another. You have to strike them out at the root."
- — Rico's message pod in the Ultimate Forest
The Mothvist, a native of the forest, acts as the organic hive for its Mothvert spawn. Its fleshy blue body has a bulb-like shape, with the "mouth" at the top acting as the entryway for Mothverts to freely enter or leave the nest. Along its vegetal "legs" are what appear to be either large thorns or vestigial teeth serving as an added layer of defense from potential predators. Although it has legs, the Mothvist utilizes them as support rods to securely hold its heavy, bulbous body in place rather than as instruments for movement. Consequently, this renders the creature immobile, thus requiring the assistance of its drones to carry it to its desired location when a viable food source is detected.
It is unknown how the Mothvist communicates with its Mothvert drones, if at all. Its position in the hierarchy scale of the group, whether being merely a reproduction vessel or a hive-mind leader to its drones or both, is also a mystery.
Mothvists, rendered stationary as a consequence to their legs being rooted to the ground, cannot attack players directly even if approached. Thus, its only recourse is to constantly spawn Mothverts in order to defend itself. Mothvists by themselves are incredibly easy creatures to defeat, since any melee or ranged attacks will easily chip away at their health with the added benefit of flinching them. When there are drones nearby, it is recommended to focus attacks either solely on the Mothvist in order to cease the never-ending barrage, or use area techniques as a force to wipe them out altogether.

Mothvist has an obtainable card in Phantasy Star Online Episode III C.A.R.D. Revolution. It can be obtained from card booster packs. The rate of obtaining it will depend on the player's card level when opening the packs, with higher levels having a higher chance of obtaining rarer cards.
Some ability descriptions may have been modified from their listing in-game in order to clarify their usage.
- The color of the Mothvist's base is shared with the body color of the Mothvert. This could potentially mean that the color of the hive dictates the species of drone that it spawns, since this characteristic is also evident with the purple colored Monest family as well.
